Welcome to Our Office
Our practice goals are to provide individualized care, to respond to the particular needs of your child and to foster open and complete communication. With this approach, we can have a positive influence on the future of your child, while providing a warm, secure and encouraging environment. As a parent, you are intimately involved with your baby and know him/her best. All children are different; and we tailor our plan of action or treatment by examining your child, learning more about his/her personality, experiences and family situation. We will discuss the findings and explain them thoroughly to you. Together we can make a difference in the future health and happiness of your child.

We would be honored to have you tell your friends and neighbors about us. We would be happy to welcome them to our practice.

Your Doctors
A pediatrician is a medical doctor, specializing in the care of infants, children, and teenagers, as well as the treatment of their diseases. This care is comprised of a prenatal interview with you and your spouse, routine well-child checkups, including developmental, hearing and visual screening, immunizations, lab tests and sick visits. We comply with the standards set by the American Academy of Pediatrics for all immunizations, lab tests and visits. Preventive medicine through routine health supervision is your child's best  preparation for the future.

Dr. Livera, Dr. Segeleon and Dr. Posnansky
Dr. Livera, Dr. Segeleon and Dr. Posnansky are Board Certified Pediatricians. All three are Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics and members of the Jefferson County Medical Society and the Kentucky Medical Association. Office Visits

Office visits are by appointment only. Please call early to request a sick visit. This will help us arrange a same day appointment if necessary.

When you call, please have available the child's temperature and a list of symptoms and problems that we need to discuss. This will allow us to schedule enough time to spend with you.

Your calls will be taken by our office staff who has extensive professional and personal experience with children and their illnesses. Prenatal interviews, well checkups, school and sport physicals should be scheduled in advance.

Your Lactation Consultants
Melissa Wilson is a Registered Nurse and Tina Martin is a Licensed Practical Registered Nurse. Both are certified by the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants. We are the only pediatric practice to have lactation consultants in the office working with our moms and babies. Whether just getting started, in the middle of feeding or weaning your child, Melissa and Tina can really help you. Thanks to the advice and counsel of our Certified Lactation Consultants, more moms breast-feed their babies and do so for a longer period of time. Melissa and Tina have a wealth of experience to draw on and can make difficult moments better. Sometimes, just a small adjustment can make a big difference. Melissa and Tina also provide support by phone. Please call our office to contact them at (502) 895-9421. Please Click Here to learn more about Melissa and Tina. Nursing mothers, Click Here for good recommended books about breastfeeding your baby.

After Hours Calls
After hours calls are for urgent medical matters only. When the office is closed, calls are taken by the answering service. They relay your message to the Pediatric After Hours Program of the Norton Healthcare. The nurses then call you back. They provide an excellent service, and a doctor from our call group provides support to them nightly.

If you ever have to call in the evening and do not get a return call within 20 minutes, please call again. Routine questions (i.e. feeding, elimination, behavioral problems or ongoing conditions) should be saved for office hours.

Prescriptions are not refilled and appointments cannot be made after hours. Your consideration of these requests will be mutually beneficial in enabling you to receive - and our office to provide the best possible care for your child.

When you call, please have the following available.
1. Pen and paper
2. Child's temperature
3. List of symptoms
4. Any questions you may have
5. Any medicines you have available

Fever Handout
If you do not already have a copy of our fever instruction sheet, ask us! This sheet is a favorite. It contains information that is difficult to find, such as dosages for children less than six months old. We also have a number of handout sheets in which you can find useful information and helpful tips. Please ask if we have one about the topic that interests you.
